[ANN] Remedy IT extends remote support contract types with RS_SLA
Remedy IT has extended the available remote support contracts (RS)
types. We now provide four kind of contract options: RS_Incident,
RS_Year, RS_Month and RS_SLA.
The first three contract options are intended for bug fixing, small
functional enhancements and extensions and development support.

Re: CORBA 6.1 Books (Have Advanced CORBA Programming with C++)
> I have six old books on CORBA. The best appears to be "Advanced CORBA
Programming with C++" by Henning and Vinoski. It covers CORBA 2.3.
There is no CORBA 6.1, CORBA is currently at v3.3 (see [link]).
Probably you refer to TAO 6.1, which is a CORBA implementation. I would
recommend you to check [link], that lists in the resources
Re: Resources for learning CCM based software development
There are no books for DDS4CCM given that fact that this is a very
recent OMG standard. Available documentation at this moment is the
standard itself and we have some sheets about DDS4CCM in our CIAO
tutorial (see CIAO/docs/OMG-CCM-Tutorial.ppt x). There are a lot of
examples/tests for DDS4CCM as part of the CIAO tutorial.
Resources for learning CCM based software development
I am CORBA newbie interested in learning more about component based software development, using CCM + DDS (DDS4CCM), possibly working in the new IDL-C++11 binding as well.
As an intro to CORBA, I worked through Ciaran McHale's "CORBA Explained Simply" which was great.
However, there do not seem to be any recent books covering CCM in great detail. I obtained and am working through Fintan Bolton's "Pure CORBA" and John Siegel's "Quick CORBA 3". Both of these books only have a single chapter devoted to CCM.

Biggest Fake Conference in Computer Science
I graduated from University of Florida and am currently running a computer firm in Florida. I have attended WORLDCOMP conference (see [link] for details) in 2010. Except for few keynote speeches and presentations, the conference was very disappointing due to a large number of poor quality papers and cancellation of some sessions. I was instantly suspicious of this conference.
[ANN]TAO 2.1.8 released
Once again, thanks to the efforts of many developers, testers, and
users, we are pleased to announce the micro and bug fix only release

CORBA Programming with IDL to C++11 tutorial
Remedy IT has published a new CORBA Programming with IDL to C++11
tutorial. This free tutorial gives an overview of the IDL to C++11
language mapping and how it can be used to develop CORBA applications.
The tutorial is available for free from Remedy IT OSportal [see

Re: OMG publishes V1.0 version of the IDL to C++11 Language Mapping
document, e.g.
2.1 refers to ISO/IEC 14822:2011 (which should be 14882:2011)
6.30 instead refers to ISO/IEC 14882:011 (again should be 14882:2011)
the table in 6.30 contains typos (alinas, alineof, constrexpr), names
that aren't keywords (int32_t, ...) and misses some keywords
Re: Target x86/64/Windows xcompile ARM/Archlinux
Yes, and in that 20 years the specification and implementations have
kept moving forward. A big concern has been the very hard to use IDL to
C++ language mapping, but that has recently also been addressed by a new
IDL to C++11 language mapping.

Johnny
