If you do not command the room, it is a nightmare, and it will be going to mess up your nerves, and further, you may lose your confidence. When the singer would get more audience to his sound, he would able to create his confidence, and it will boost up their voice. For example, you can take those anchors and newsreaders. Most news readers attract an audience in two ways first is through their sweet or herder voice, then my talking about the exciting news. Only when an exciting concept is spoken by the speaker people would listen to his sound, or else they will concentrate on some other actions. From this we could understand that to make the people listen or to avoid is depends upon the singer or speaker person.
